Dedicated Xbox enthusiasts who missed the initial August rush for the translucent green Xbox Series X | X25 Special Edition console now have a fresh opportunity to secure the hardware. When preorders for this collectible 25th-anniversary system originally went live, high demand caused them to sell out almost instantaneously across retailers. This left many collectors empty-handed and searching for alternative ways to acquire the limited-edition variant. Fortunately, Amazon is stepping in with a new purchasing system designed to give interested buyers a fair second chance.

Instead of utilizing a traditional first-come, first-served preorder model that often favors automated bots and lightning-fast connection speeds, Amazon is implementing an invitation-based strategy. Players who want to add the commemorative console to their entertainment setups can navigate to the product page and officially submit a request for an invitation. While this alternative approach does not guarantee a successful purchase for every participant, it significantly improves the overall experience compared to fighting through frantic flash sales.

The retailer has clarified that submitting an invite request simply enters the user into a pool for potential selection rather than securing an immediate reservation. If Amazon ultimately selects a user's request, they will receive a notification email detailing the steps to complete the transaction when the hardware becomes available. This method serves as a practical way to manage high-demand inventory while keeping the hardware out of the hands of scalpers who typically exploit standard retail drops. Fans hoping to celebrate a quarter-century of Xbox gaming with this unique translucent design should submit their requests promptly to join the upcoming selection pool.
