Universal Pictures has officially shared the first promotional images from the upcoming film Miami Vice '85, offering audiences an initial glimpse at its two main leads. The newly revealed photographs feature prominent actors Michael B. Jordan and Austin Butler fully in character for the highly anticipated cinematic reboot. This early look provides fans with a clear visual confirmation of the aesthetic direction being taken for the modern revival of the legendary franchise.

Within the newly published photos, Michael B. Jordan is seen portraying the suave Ricardo Tubbs, while Austin Butler steps into the iconic role of James 'Sonny' Crockett. Both actors appear dressed sharply in period-appropriate attire, holding firearms in a manner that immediately evokes the classic action-heavy tone of the original television series. These promotional stills successfully establish the intense atmosphere and visual flair that viewers can expect when the feature film finally lands in cinemas.

Development on this modern reimagining of the beloved 1980s television show has been moving forward under the creative vision of director Joseph Kosinski, who previously helmed Top Gun: Maverick. Word of the project first gained traction last year as Kosinski attached his directorial talents to the ambitious studio reboot. The release of these initial production photos effectively marks a major milestone for the upcoming film as it builds early momentum toward its scheduled release.

Film enthusiasts and longtime admirers of the property will still have quite a wait ahead of them, as the picture is currently slated to debut in 2028. While specific plot details and supporting cast members remain under wraps for the time being, these initial character reveals offer plenty of style to dissect. As production continues to progress over the coming years, further updates from the studio will undoubtedly shed more light on what this fresh take on the classic crime drama has in store.
